You will have to solve sample papers to score better marks in the class 8 examination. Sample papers are beneficial in establishing command over the subjects. There are sample papers for all the subjects in the market. For example- class 9 chemistry sample papers, biology sample papers, maths sample papers, physics sample papers, English sample papers, etc. The sample contains a variety of questions and solutions not only from NCERT books but also from other side books. So, when you solve the papers, you will get exposed to different questions that might be asked in the examination. Time Management
There are many subjects you have to deal with, and you cannot escape from any of them. So to have a command of all the subjects, you must read every subject. It is not possible to read every subject in one day. So! Learn to manage time. It is not essential to give all your time to study, but you should learn to manage time effectively. You can spend 2 hours of your time on each subject and try to read only 2 subjects in a day. For example, if you are reading Math and English on Monday, then read Science and Hindi on Tuesday and so on. In this way, you can effectively manage your time.

since you are in class 9, you need not learn things from various books. Reference books and other books are helpful for candidates appearing for boards. But! In class 9, all you need to focus on are NCERT books and your class notes, as all questions come from them only. Please do not waste your time reading other reference books as it might cause you trouble and lots of confusion.
